How it all began

Ulm, 1960: My siblings and I were riding a pony, around the grounds of the old William Castle, where the army recently made wide.
Then I saw "IT", a blue greyhound bitch with white markings, which accompanied a young man in uniform, I already got down, and wanted to learn everything about the dog. In my enthusiasm I could not shake off and escorted him to his ministry began.

From the day it was clear to me that I later so will have a dog. Until then, some time passed, however, because at home we had some "throwaway" animals given a home: dog, cat and turtle.

So it should be

Ashley und seine Girls

Blessed be our last "Race sidewalks" Dog the temporal, I saw an ad in the newspaper: "For Sale Greyhounds". We called the breeder and were able to choose among 3 females. Sun 1972, the first Grey came into the family.
"Philomena's Laurelle" (both parents from Birknershof) half-year, beautiful blue bitch with white stripes and a white throat patch on chest. Later still followed "by Joy Birkenhof".

We also visited some exhibitions and races, and since we were in regular contact with our growers turned out for a while that he was the young pilot of the William Castle. We were not detected right away, because I was too young then, and now he had almost no hair on his head. We still frequently very amused. Unfortunately, the good thing is soon after emigrated to Ireland. After the Grey's came a wind-dog free time until then, the first Whippet in 1988 entered the house. "Trump of Hount House", later succeeded by his son, "Caruso's Allegretto", 2 years later still came "Allegretto's Dr. Doolittle" to us. All were quite successful at racing and coursing. Meanwhile Docki, followed by 15 years and 331 days and the other bored now with Caruso and trump in the "happy hunting grounds."

By the Whippets we have breeders families Kleinberg & Rottmann met and decided to acquire from them a bitch. In 2001, O'Leary came to us from the small mountain. It was followed by the import bitch "There is a star Ypsylon".

After 30 years of greyhound experience I wanted to build a small breed, so is our kennel name since 04/24/2002 - protected internationally by the FCI and the DWZRV - Sylvianne's.

In our kennel are 1 to a maximum of 2 litters per year, in a rural environment with plenty of space to play and run. In the breeding range, we place special emphasis on health and temperament of the dogs, because both are also inherited. I think it is most important not to ask personal ambition above the good of the race!

Particular attention is paid to the rearing.
Our dogs eat mostly fresh meat, and the fourth from the puppies Week also. In all the years I have never been fed differently, and have always powerful healthy dog. The re-discovered today called BARF feeding fresh meat and there are some good things about the Internet.

Special emphasis is placed on socialization.
The socialization phase has the greatest importance and responsibility of the breeder. The puppies learn from different processes:
Socialization, habituation imprinting
Classical and instrumental conditioning
The normal behavior of the dog depends on the Rassse, and is no longer comparable with that of the wolf!
Our puppies are delivered by approximately 12 weeks to the new owner. Each puppy gets his "instructions" (food-care-plans-Homeopathic Education list-etc.) With, as well as his resume on a CD.
Even after the release we would like to encourage contact with the owners, and offer advice and assistance.
In our house with 6000 sq m terrain dogs we live with our Whippets and Pequeno Podengo Portugues (short hair) together.
